Cabin 1 Booked this Summer!

When we bought almost 20 acres of woods, we had no idea all the blessings and challenges we had before us.   The journey the Lord is taking us on has had such a great and beautiful purpose!  We are so excited about all God is progressing in Cedar Creek Ministries.  This Phase 1 of our building project is teaching us so much about both building and ministry.   What a blessing it is to serving a Risen Lord!!

Quick Timeline to re-cap:

November 2022: Perry's buy land with intention of using part of it for ministry until ministry owns it's own land.

May 15th 2022: Land cleared for building

May 20th 2022: Perry's get to Montana to stay full time. Dry camping on the property.

July 2022: Crawl spaces dug for both cabins and foundations poured (stem wall for inquiring minds)

July 2022: Craig and Connie Grogman (Amos's parents) get to Montana

Aug 2022: Work team comes out and dries in Cabin 1 in 10 days!

Sept-Oct 2022: Amos and Craig continue to work on Cabin 1 (basically every spare minute of the day)

Sept 2022: Land gets electricity.

Oct 2022: Panicking we won't have  a well before winter. Neighbor generously letting us truck in water from their well.

Nov 2022: We get a well a week before snow hits the grown.  Praise the Lord!! We were on a waiting list for a year!!

Nov- April 2022: Perry's and Grogmans spend the winter living in Cabin 1 together while working on finishing the build.

March 2022: College work team comes from Helena to start cabin 2.

June 2022: An interior designer friend comes to help decorate cabin 1.

June 2022: Men's group from a church in Fallbrook, CA comes out to help dry in cabin 2.

Our summer projects include:

  • Building an apartment for Craig and Connie.
  • Getting cabin 2 livable so the Perry's can live in it while they finish it this winter.

Ongoing Prayer Requests for the summer:

Amos and Craig to have endurance and speed as they continue to build.

The learning curve for the saw mill will be quick.

Both places to be finished enough before winter hits so families can live through the winter separately and not in trailers.

Need a little encouragement in YOUR calling?

Remember, when you are called, God equips you to do His work! We co-labor with Christ! He is the best boss and partner. Do not grow weary, but embrace His timing, be flexible and show love even when those he's called you to do ministry with are driving you nuts! We all have our purpose. Let grace and joy abound as you work diligently for the One who loves you most and best!!

Thank you so much for sharing your time with us. Cedar Creek Ministries is funded by Christians and churches who believe in the call to offer our leaders the double portion!

If you feel the desire to make sure all those men and women called to serve God in missions and ministry have everything they need to personally rest, restore family relationships and revive ministry vision, consider joining us in regular prayer and financial support!!

One day of rest can actually improve your productivity.

“Well, no, this couldn’t be from God, that’s definitely not it. You sure are lucky, though.” Words from a relative that sting as we share that God sent a work team to help us build cabin #2! “We just think your vision is too big and you are doing too many things. We can’t financially get behind you at this time.” Words from a church board member we attended for 15+ years. Sometimes the people who know you and love you, just DON’T GET IT! It’s painful. It’s awful. In your worst moments it makes you question all the aspects of ministry you know God has led you to walk out. But I encourage you (and me somedays) to remember: Some people understand what you are doing instantly. Some people will come alongside you at different points in your journey. Some people are called to support other people’s vision. God called lots of His people to do radical things. Gideon, David, Noah and Abraham were all called to do big things, go far away places and I’m betting many people didn’t get it and we KNOW many people didn’t follow! So, go ahead and be a Kingdom builder. Be a disciple of Jesus Christ who makes disciples who make disciples. Obey God’s Word. Be Transformed. The gate is narrow! Stay on your path!! If you are encouraging people in the Lord and walking in a manner worthy of the calling, then you have it right. Not everyone will understand and not everyone will go with you!! Go Anyway!
