Faithfulness in Action: The Heart Behind Our Prayer Pledge Drive
January 29, 2025

Faithfulness isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing up and trusting God to do the rest.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of our 4th Annual Prayer Pledge Drive, and today, I want to share the inspiring heart of our dear friend Kim—the one who started it all. Her story is a beautiful reminder of how God works through faithfulness, even in the most unexpected moments.

We can be faithful even when:

  • Life feels overwhelmingly busy.
  • Our hearts are grieving.
  • We feel stretched beyond our limits.
  • Our desire to serve is at an all-time low.
  • We’re in physical pain or recovering from a procedure.

Faithfulness isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing up and trusting God to do the rest.

Serving God is a privilege, but let’s be honest—it’s not always easy. Those who sacrifice and step out of their comfort zones to walk in obedience know this truth deeply.

For every event you see posted on your social media feed, there are hours of prayer, work, and love poured in behind the scenes. What looks simple to the outside world often carries the weight of dedication, sacrifice, and trust in God’s provision.

Kim’s testimony beautifully illustrates this. Stay tuned as we dive into her story and see how God has worked through her faithfulness to make an incredible impact.

"Towards the end of 2020 the Lord brought an idea to me. I was approaching my 40th birthday in February. I would be remiss not to mention that I DO NOT like doing birthday celebrations for myself. It's so not my thing! But again the Lord wanted to stretch me and here was this idea, this big, scary idea that made me all kinds of uncomfortable. It was a fundraiser and not only that but a call to prayer and not only that, but it would utilize by birthday as the jumping off point! I talked to Nickole @littlehouseoftheperrys about this idea and she actually saw potential in it and went to work.

Our first Prayer Pledge Drive Fundraiser event was being planned. During this planning process, I had a tooth extracted, that actually ended up with an infection. At the same time, videos had to be made, with me speaking in the videos. This was awkward and uncomfortable for me to begin wit, but add in a painful swollen mouth and I was like, "Lord, are you sure?"

But Amos directed me through them and although I'll never watch them, EVER, they're at the link in my bio. That first year we requested donations of $40 in honor of my 40th birthday and put together groups of prayer warriors to cover each pastor in prayer every day in February. It was such a blessing all around. God did it despite of me, my health, my discomfort, my weaknesses. It wasn't about me at all, but about what He can do with just a step of obedience.

This is our 5th year of prayer and fundraising!! 4 years have gone by with February being a month set apart for prayer. A year round prayer group dedicated to praying and encouraging our church leaders sprung out of that first year and continues to this day. Money has been raised for Cedar Creek Ministries to give rest to church leaders, missionaries and their families."

Kim’s story is a powerful reminder of what God can do with our “yes,” even when it feels small or uncomfortable. It’s not about our strengths, our preferences, or even our comfort—it’s about His power being made perfect in our weakness.

As we step into our 4th Annual Prayer Pledge Drive, we are standing on the foundation of faith, obedience, and sacrifice that began with a simple idea and an act of courage. Because of that step, lives have been changed, prayers have been lifted, and church leaders have found rest and renewal in ways only God could orchestrate.

Will you join us this year in continuing the mission? Together, we can see God move in incredible ways once again. Let’s step out in faith, trusting that He will take our small acts of obedience and multiply them for His glory.

Thank you so much for sharing your time with us. Cedar Creek Ministries is funded by Christians and churches who believe in the call to offer our leaders the double portion! If you feel the desire to make sure all those men and women called to serve God in missions and ministry have everything they need to personally rest, restore family relationships, and revive ministry vision, consider joining us in regular prayer and financial support!
